Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
videos.me (operated by Video Me, LLC, “we”, “us”) lets people collect video clips from friends, family, and colleagues through a shared link, and stitches those clips into a single film. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and, if you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, the profile details that provider shares with us.
- Videos and contributions — the video clips you record or upload, the name a contributor optionally attaches to a clip, and tags or messages added along the way.
- Payment details — payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. We keep records of what was purchased for which collection.
- Notification preferences — email and (if you opt in) SMS settings, including a phone number you provide.
- Usage and device data — standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) used for security, debugging, and improving the product.
How we use it
- To run the product: collect clips, compile films, and serve the share/watch pages you create.
- To notify you — e.g. “you received a new response” or “your film is ready” — by in-app notification and email (SMS only if enabled).
- To process payments and apply what you bought (keeping a collection live, or buying it out).
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
We do not sell your personal information or your videos.
Who can see your videos
- Clips submitted to a collection are visible to the collection's creator, who reviews them and decides what goes into the final film.
- A compiled film is viewable by anyone who has its watch link. Links are long and unguessable, but they are links — anyone the link is forwarded to can watch.
- Dormant collections have their public link turned off; the videos are retained privately for the creator (nothing is deleted automatically).
Service providers
We rely on a small set of processors to run videos.me: Google Firebase (hosting, authentication, database, file storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Mux (video streaming infrastructure). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Retention
Videos and collections are retained until you delete them. Unpaid collections go dormant after their collecting window (the public link turns off) but are not deleted. Deleting a clip or collection in the app soft-deletes it immediately from view; the underlying files are removed in scheduled cleanup passes.
Your choices
- Edit or delete your collections and clips from your dashboard.
- Change notification settings (email/SMS) in Settings → Notifications.
- Request a copy or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at sales@videos.me. We respond within 30 days.
YouTube API Services
videos.me uses YouTube API Services to let you publish finished films to your own YouTube channel. When you connect your YouTube account, Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) applies to Google's handling of your data. We access your YouTube account solely to upload the videos you explicitly choose to publish: we do not read, store, or share any other YouTube data, and we keep nothing from your YouTube account beyond what is needed to perform the upload you requested. You can revoke videos.me's access to your YouTube account at any time in your Google security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sharing of Google user data. When you connect your YouTube account, videos.me receives a Google OAuth token that lets it upload videos you choose to your own YouTube channel. We do not share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data, including your OAuth tokens or any data obtained through Google APIs, to any third party. It is used solely to upload videos to your own channel at your request. videos.me's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we protect sensitive data. Google OAuth tokens are held in access-controlled backend storage readable only by our server processes, never by any client, other user, or third party. All data in transit is encrypted with TLS/HTTPS, access uses least-privilege server credentials, tokens are used only for the specific upload you initiate, and we honor revocation and do not retain this data longer than needed to provide the feature.
Children
videos.me is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contributors of any age may appear in videos at the invitation of a collection creator, who is responsible for having permission to collect and share those clips.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
