Kudoboard vs Tribute, two different objects.

Who wrote this, before anything else: videos.me, which makes a competing tool and is not in the comparison below. We are not going to tell you which of Kudoboard and Tribute to pick. Every figure here was read off their own pricing pages on the date stamped under the tables, and the totals are computed from those models rather than typed by hand.

These two are compared constantly and they do not make the same thing. Kudoboard makes a board: a page of notes, GIFs, photos and short clips that people post to, browsed by whoever it is for, and printable as a book or a poster. Tribute makes a film: video messages assembled into one video that plays start to finish.

That difference decides the price comparison before you get to the numbers. Kudoboard charges by the board and how many posts it holds, so a long celebration costs the same as a short one. Tribute charges by how long the finished film runs, so the same group costs more the more they talk. Kudoboard is the lower number in every row of the table below, and that is not the useful finding: the useful finding is that a board and a film are not substitutes, so the question is which object you want to hand over, not which costs less.

Where the price does turn is at the edges, and both edges are in the table and the questions underneath: Kudoboard sells a dedicated memorial board at $99, which is more than Tribute’s entry film, and Tribute publishes no annual plan while Kudoboard publishes several.

The same collection, priced on each

These two do not charge by the same unit, which is why the rows move differently: Kudoboard by how many posts the board holds, Tribute by how long the finished film runs. The same collection is priced on each, computed from their published ladders.

What Kudoboard makes

  • A board that fills in minutes, because posting a note is faster than recording anything.
  • A home for the people who would rather write than be on camera.
  • Print: the board becomes a physical book or poster.
  • Annual plans for an organisation celebrating constantly across teams.

What Tribute makes

  • One film that plays at the party or the meeting, rather than a page that gets scrolled.
  • Concierge editing at $99, where someone else assembles it.
  • Flat coverage of everything up to thirty minutes in one price.
  • A physical Video Book on the $149 tier.

Where we fit, since you are on our site

We make the film, like Tribute, and we charge by something neither of these two uses: the videos you actually receive. That removes the length question entirely, so a talkative group does not cost more than a brief one, and it removes the board question too, because every contribution is a person on camera rather than a tile.

What we do not make is the board, the print, or the editing suite. If the people contributing would rather type than record, a board is the right object and we are the wrong tool. We may be the better option when what you want is the watched moment and you cannot predict how many people will reply, since the whole loop works before any payment.

Kudoboard and Tribute facts read from kudoboard.com/pricing and tribute.co/pricing, 12 October 2026. Their features and prices are theirs to change; check their sites for current details. Our own figures are read from the pricing service that charges the card, not typed.

Is Kudoboard cheaper than Tribute?

On the published ladders, yes, at every size: a Kudoboard board runs $6.99 to $19.99 depending on how many posts it holds, where Tribute starts at $35 and rises with the finished film’s length. The two prices buy different objects, though, so the comparison is less useful than it looks. The exception is a memorial, where Kudoboard’s dedicated memorial board is $99 and Tribute’s entry film is $35.

What is the actual difference between a Kudoboard and a Tribute video?

A Kudoboard is a page people post to: notes, GIFs, photos and short clips, laid out as tiles, and it can be printed as a book or a poster. A Tribute is one video: contributors record messages and the clips are assembled into a film that plays start to finish. A board is browsed, usually alone. A film is played, usually with other people in the room.

Which one is better for a workplace?

It depends on the rhythm rather than the occasion. Kudoboard publishes annual plans, a 5-board pack at $35 a year and a Business Plan at $299 a year for up to 50 employees, which suit an organisation celebrating something every few weeks. Tribute publishes no annual plan, so a workplace running many occasions pays per film each time.

Which one is better for a memorial?

Both publish something for it and they are priced very differently. Kudoboard sells a dedicated memorial board at $99. Tribute does not publish a separate memorial product, so a memorial film is priced like any other film, from $35 by length. The choice is the same one as everywhere else on this page: a page of written memories and photographs, or a film of people speaking.

Can you put video on a Kudoboard?

Yes, clips are one of the things people can post, alongside notes, GIFs and photos. The difference is structural rather than a feature gap: the clips sit as tiles on a board that gets scrolled, instead of being assembled into one video that plays through.
